What to Expect

When you arrive on Friday morning a team of students & adults will be there to welcome you.

They will carry your things inside for you and help you check in.

At check in we will make sure you are completely registered and snap a quick photo.

Parents and caretakers we ask that you come inside with your student for check in.

After you check in we will direct you to the room where students will be playing some low pressure games and getting to know one another.

You’ll then be assigned to something we call table groups, table groups are a fun way of meeting some new people.

Don’t worry if you don’t love meeting new people or it makes you a little anxious, thats normal. One of our welcoming adults will help make it less awkward and guide your group through it. Plus you’ll still have plenty of time to spend with people you might already know.

You’ll hear people refer to the conference room through out the weekend, the conference room is where you as a first time attender will spend time in table groups, listen to students share about their life journeys, do some singing, and get to know each other.

The conference room is where a lot of fun happens. It also always has a fun theme to it which insures it will never be shy of decorations and food!

United TEC is focused on being student led, meaning after first time attenders experience the weekend we ask students to come back and help lead and direct the weekend retreats.

Through out the weekend high school students that come back to serve on team will give talks, cook and serve food, prepare & set up activities and more! First time attenders, who we call weekenders, will get plenty of opportunity to interact with students serving on team.

The weekend is filled with fun activities, singing, discussion, food, and community.

Think of it like attending camp, you’ll never be bored and you absolutely won’t be pressured into anything. This weekend is about you and your experience.

Our goal at United TEC is that you feel 100% welcomed as you are. We invite you to be you and prioritize creating a community on the weekend that is welcoming and accepting of all people.

Make yourself at home and experience time and space to learn more about yourself, others and community.
